My Style Story
Fashion and I have had a complicated relationship.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by style. Not because I wanted to look like everyone else, but because I wanted to understand why certain clothes made people feel powerful, confident, creative, or completely themselves.
Long before I became a stylist, I was simply someone trying to figure out who I was.
And honestly? I still am.
The Early Years
Growing up, I quickly realised that fashion wasn’t one-size-fits-all.
What worked for one person didn’t necessarily work for another.
Some people felt amazing in classic outfits. Others came alive in bold colours, alternative styles, or creative combinations that broke every so-called fashion rule.
I became fascinated by self-expression.
Fashion wasn’t just clothing.
It was communication.
It was confidence.
It was identity.
Becoming a Stylist
As I got older, that fascination became a career.
I trained professionally, worked within the fashion industry, and eventually built a career helping people discover styles that reflected who they truly were.
During that journey I learned something important:
Most people don’t actually need more clothes.
They need more clarity.
The problem usually isn’t their wardrobe.
The problem is that they’ve never been given permission to dress like themselves.
Letting Go of Fashion Rules
Over the years I’ve seen every trend imaginable come and go.
I’ve watched style “rules” appear, disappear, and then magically reappear again a few years later.
The older I get, the less interested I am in following fashion rules and the more interested I am in helping people find confidence.
Because confidence never goes out of style.
Fashion should be enjoyable.
It should be creative.
It should feel like freedom, not pressure.
My Style Today
These days my style interests are wonderfully varied.
One day I might be exploring capsule wardrobes and timeless classics.
The next I might be talking about alternative fashion, kawaii influences, modest dressing, creative styling, or nostalgic trends from decades past.
I love the idea that fashion can be both practical and playful.
I don’t believe you have to choose between comfort and style.
I don’t believe there’s an age limit on self-expression.
And I definitely don’t believe that fashion belongs to one particular group of people.
Style belongs to everyone.
Why Daisy Change Diaries Exists
Daisy Change Diaries was created as a place to explore style in a more personal way.
Not through impossible standards.
Not through pressure.
Not through comparison.
But through curiosity.
Through creativity.
Through growth.
This blog is where I share what I’m learning, what I’m loving, and what I’m discovering along the way.
It’s part fashion blog, part style diary, and part reminder that it’s okay to evolve.
My Style Philosophy
If there’s one thing I hope readers take away from this blog, it’s this:
You do not need permission to be yourself.
Fashion isn’t about becoming someone else.
It’s about becoming more comfortable being you.
Your style can change.
Your wardrobe can change.
Your life can change.
And that’s okay.
In fact, that’s beautiful.
Because style isn’t about fitting into a box.
It’s about finding the frequency that feels like home.
And that’s a journey worth taking.
With love,
Hayley
